We go away for a few days ....
... and all sorts of things happen. We had a long weekend in south Wales and Devon with Emma and Chris and their respective families, knowing that Ian was planning to carry on with joinery, Sion would be doing some more plumbing and Rob would be fitting some of the electrical kit. On our return we were not disappointed. Lots had happened, including things we hadn't expected, and we also discovered that we ourselves have lots to do, as we have finally given notice to leave our rented accommodation early next month and move in. How exciting is that?! Here's a taste of the new stuff.
the oak staircase and balustrades have grown
and grown
with some neat detailing at first floor level
and in the angled joints - Ian the joiner will soon be creating templates for the glass panels
ensuites and bathrooms have gained loos and basins
towel rails and (so far) one shower screen
and also a clever thermostatic mixer under the bath to ensure the hot water isn't too hot
and even (and this was a surprise) marble shelves
with a particularly clever touch in one to allow a thermostatic valve to be adjusted - now you see the access ....
..... and now you don't
meanwhile the kitchen and sitting room are (once again) storeroom and workroom
Rob has fitted some more outside lights and started to put light and power into the garage/workshop. We are wondering whether we will have garage doors before we move in - they may be in the non-critical category as far as Pat is concerned, which is fair enough. Everything in good time.
