More blocks and cables

As the week comes to an end, the basis of the garage gable has emerged, and Rob has continued the long job of fixing cables and putting back boxes in place as part of the first-fix electrics. We can now also see the network of timbers which has been put in place downstairs to create the void beneath the floor into which the pipes for the sprinkler system (compulsory now in all buildings in Wales) will go. This complicates the possible future business of fixing things like a sheila maid (drying rack) to the ceiling, so the photographs will serve as a reminder as to where suitable fixing points may be.

the front view keeps changing, if only slightly - the gable blocks will be extended to meet the roof trusses when they are in place

provision for incoming water and electricity in the garage/workshop

the electrical distribution box will go above the downstairs heating manifold in a utility room cupboard

someone in the shadows by the back/side door

for ceiling fixings, there's a batten central to the door from the kitchen to the utility/plant room

the joists are offset from the kitchen door frame.....

......but in line with the wall at the study end

the roof light in bedroom 3 now has its 'light box'

and insulation is in place around the one above bedroom 1's ensuite shower
