It just keeps getting higher

The sun continues to shine and the walls continue to rise. A quick visit yesterday afternoon. The photos show that some of the walls have reached lintel height on the first floor - not far to the lower edge of the roof now. I also took some photos from across the road to show how the house 'sits' in the plot. The apex of our roof will be the same height as that of the neighbouring property, whose single-storey outbuilding will form a visual link.

The beast

that's how easy it is to raise the blocks

the first floor windows on this side will have privacy glass, except for bedroom 4 which will have a clever bay with windows at 90 degrees to the wall

the back corner upstairs houses bedroom 2, which will have a large window looking out over the dining area to the hills

I'm very taken with this machine

we're set back quite a long way from the road (though our garage has yet to be built on the front of the house)

outbuildings and hedge separate us from 'next door'

this is the elevation which will have privacy windows (and the PV panels once the roof is in place)
