We have a waist-high wall

We have a wall. Well, a stub of a wall. It's just the bit of the wall which is needed to accommodate the electrical connection due in a week's time. It is good that the connection will go straight into the right place, rather than onto a post at the edge of the site. Eventually, this will just be thought of as our meter box, and it will have a whole house around it. It probably won't seem at all special then, but it does now.

  1. A very lovely wall it is too. Reminds me of Pyramus in A Midsummer Nights Dream - Thou wall, O wall, O sweet and lovely wall. Good luck with a rapid electricity connection. I had to have the water turned off to an entire condo block to replace the main water shut off to a condo we were selling - doesn't endear you to the neighbors.

    1. I like the idea of A Midsummer Night's Dream being acted out there! That's a great story about the condo block having its water supply interrupted. I fear that we may also upset out neighbours, as the electricity supply company have refused us an overhead connection (the system the rest of the village uses) and are charging us to dig up 40m of roadway to make an underground connection. This involves us compensating the local council for a road diversion for three days. Could be a lot of fun!
